Morning Huddle — Daily Site Briefing
What time do we start pouring concrete?
Don't worry, we measure it.
How deep is the trench over there?
On-site Issue — Coordination Between Trades
PaulAhmed, Marco — we've got a problem at the inverter station #8. The mechanical team installed the inverter skid, but the electrical team says the conduits don't line up. Let's walk over and sort this out.
Ahmed、Marco——8
MarcoWe set the skid per the layout drawing. The anchor bolts are in exactly where the drawing showed. If the conduits don't match, maybe the electrical drawing is different?
Ahmed(checking drawings) Let me pull up both drawings. Marco's civil drawing shows the skid at grid line B-4. Our electrical drawing shows the inverter at B-4 too. But... wait. The civil drawing is Rev D, and the electrical drawing is Rev C. I think there was a revision that shifted the inverter by 2 inches.
SarahLet me check the document register... Yes, Rev D shifted the equipment 2 inches to the east to clear a structural column that was added. The change was approved but it looks like the electrical team was still working off Rev C.
PaulSo the skid is in the right place, but the electrical conduits were run per the old drawing. Classic.
MarcoSo I'm good, my installation is correct?
PaulYou're fine, Marco. Ahmed — you're going to need to re-route those conduits. They need to shift 2 inches to match the skid. How much rework are we talking?
Ahmed(measuring) We've got four 2-inch rigid conduits coming up through the pad. They're already tied into the underground duct bank, so we can't just shift the stub-ups. We'll need to cut them below the pad, install offset fittings, and bring them up in the right spot.
AhmedOne day. Two guys. We have the fittings in stock.
PaulGood. Sarah — log this in the NCR system, but classify it as "document revision coordination issue," not a workmanship defect. The root cause is our document control process.
SarahGot it. I'll issue NCR #056. And I'll recommend that all discipline leads cross-check drawings before starting work on interfacing scopes from now on.
PaulAgreed. Ahmed, get this fixed by tomorrow EOD. Marco, give him whatever support he needs — access, lifting, whatever. And both of you, update me at the 4:30 progress meeting.
AhmedWill do. And Paul — can I put in a request for a full-time document controller on site? This would've been caught if someone was tracking drawing revisions full-time.
PaulI've been asking for that for two months. I'll push it up to the project director again. Good point, Ahmed.
